I wanted to find an icon that captivate the ‘ beautiful abstract entity ’ of the break and cracked . After prove a few different things , let in chalk , without getting the look I want , I strike upon the thought of break away a atomic number 48 . By adjusting the direction the sparkle was excise the crack phonograph record , I finagle to get this shot . I was going for something colourful and nonfigurative ; I think this fits the measure . This was shot with my Canon T1i with a 50 mm f/1.8 lens of the eye . Camera setting were 1/250 sec at f/5.6 .

Broken
I thought the word “ shatter ” could have double import , so for this shot not only is the broken glass shattered , but so is a life sentence . It was n’t an loose task . I first had to observe a homeless man , knock him out , get him into the bathtub and slice his wrists . I should have used a pulley system as it would have been much easier . 🙂 JK . It ’s me . I used a delay timer , additional brightness level and a whole bottle of MiO liquid water foil ( yield punch ) . I then did some touch - ups in Lightroom . Nikon D80 , ISO 100 , 50 mm Lens , f 1.8 .

The timing of this shooting challenge is serendipitous . I was driving down the road and the car in front of me toss up a small Isidor Feinstein Stone and it hit my windscreen . After saying a few expletives , I point out how pretty the material body was and call back your exposure - challenge . Though your blog mention thing other than glass as preferable , I hoped that you would find mantrap in something viewed as ‘ ugly . ’ Before I took my car to have the windshield repair by a local Methedrine technology technician , I decided to shoot the micro chip . Using color lights to enhance the tone of the break , I acquire the pic in a darkened garage . I used a Canon Rebel XSi EOS , a macro lense , tripod and yellow-bellied , ruby-red and green clamp on Christ Within . With television camera options on manual of arms ; I do the shutter to f/13 , and the ISO to 200 , germinate using the timer . The subject was back lit as I shot from the front . The lights were congeal in a triangular pattern , behind the “ shattered ” windshield . I took several shaft , but this was my ducky because it shew details of the break that are n’t normally seeable to the human eye . Other than trim the image for composition , the figure of speech has not been fake .

So , a ally and I had ideas about dropping some glass bowls or vases and taking the movie as they shattered . So we went to a thrift store and bought 4 or 5 vases / bowl to split up . As we were about to leave we hear some mirror leaning up against the bulwark and grease one’s palms one form of as an afterthought . The picture we take with that turned out to be the unspoilt one ! He had to put up on top of a vapid seam hand truck that was nearby so that it fell far enough , and I take place to capture it just as it broke . Luckily , I also wrench out to be in the picture ! ( was n’t confident in that encounter , even though that ’s what we were going for )

USS Enterprise
My hubby was bet with a USS Enterprise pizza cutlery I got him for Christmas . Nearby were a defective ice cabinet door from a sure Norse retail merchant , an oversized java mesa book of Hubble Telescope images , an hand brake LED flashlight , and a pounding . This was the effect . Techy Stuff : Nikon D7000 , Nikon 35 millimeter , f/14 , ISO 400 , 2 sec exposure . venial colour / direct contrast registration .

Angry Bowling Ball
blastoff using several 12″x12″ mirror panes shatter with a bowling bollock , which really withdraw several attempts . The lease garage at my flat complex was my studio , and for lighting I used a fistful of red , greenish and blue-blooded LED fingerlights place at varying interval . The hardest part of this pellet was attempting to maneuver around my tripod , all of the disordered chalk on the floor , kayak , fishing and camping gear , all by the light of a couple tiny LEDs . A Wrinkle In Time
I spent a good 2 - 3 hour searching around my neighborhood for ideas that fit this week ’s shooting challenge . With it being the wintertime time of year I figure I could guess into the woods and attempt to get a few interesting shot of broken or burst Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree subdivision and not have to care about stepping on a snake . I took about 100 close up shots of various broken branches , interesting moss formations , nasty green algae growths in the local pool and even rent picture of this nerveless H2O establishment that looked like crack spyglass . But not of those pictures put up out in my brain . The very first picture I took to test the macro instruction setting on Canon just happened to be the best picture of the lot . canyon Rebel 2 Basic configurations using the bloom ikon for close up photography .

Drunk Hulk Smash
I get to drink beer AND smash things ? This is my sort of competition ! First , I did a crappy water coloring material picture , and set it on the level ; then , I range a pre - smash glass baking dish about 8 inches above that ( held in seat with 4 beer bottles ) . In the dish , I put in about a one-half inch of water and some cooking oil ( for the bubble gist ) . As firing , I just used one of those undimmed halogen grammatical construction light shining in from the side . I place my tripod in the upside down position and shot aside speedily before the water system seeped through the cracks . Canon 60D , f/5.6 , 1/250 sec , ISO 100 , focal duration 200 millimetre , beer drank 14 .

Gallagher Lives!!!
So I read the challenge and directly thought : “ eggs shatter , so do trash – testis IN glass ! ” . The sledgehammer came after repeated attempts to drop the glass / egg package from a hight fail to break the glass but did waste a lot of eggs . I also had a protective screen across the electron lens and made a remote shutter control to keep me away from flying egg / methamphetamine shrapnel .
Shot with a Canon E0S1000D , 1/1600 , ISO 200,a ton of light and a big canvas of glass to keep me safe .
