This clip from 1986 ’s The Seventh Curse is the reason why we are all alive on this satellite . A group of Taiwanese adventurers in a Northern Thai temple get attacked by a devil that looks like a Xenomorph from Alien . Then the Xenomorph fights a flying worm baby . But the best snatch is when Chow Yun - Fat shows up .
The great thing about Chow Yun - Fat , wearing a natty suit , demonstrate up and settling the whole business with his rocket launcher ? He ’s hardly been in the residue of the movie , up to this point . Like , they only got a few Clarence Shepard Day Jr. of filming with Chow Yun - Fat , and they really want to make it count . He shows up in a few framing sequences , smoking a ginormous pipe while the adventurers tell him about stuff and nonsense that happened , etc . And you remember he ’s just a sort of narrative gimmick in the celluloid , someone for them to relate their adventures to — - and then he pops up with a rocket catapult and kills everything . BOOM . Ultimate bogus - out !
The Seventh Curse has a LOT of really harebrained practical effects crop mixed with boss grillwork , as you’re able to see in the above magazine . Basically , the Thai cultists are evil , and they practice virtuous sacrifice , etc . , and when this one Taiwanese guy rescue the nude lady who is supposed to be sacrifice , he ’s maledict — and then a year after , he find oneself out that if he has sexuality with anyone , the final curse will be triggered and he ’ll thaw or something . Too bad he find this out when he ’s already in the midsection of having sex . It ’s that form of movie . Definitely worth hunt down a DVD ! [ Thanks , Gregor and Lorena ! ]
