Blackberry has basically given up . The dusty old smartphone trailblazer is releasing its 2nd Android phone , even after investors ( and an uninterested populace ) urge on CEO John Chen toditch the handset businessaltogether . But alas , here we are , and so is Blackberry ’s new smartphone , the DTEK50 .

The DTEK50 is about as nice as it voice . It ’s a cheap 5.2 - column inch Android smartphone made in China that sell for $ 300 , about half the toll of a raw iPhone . The phone will be able to download apps from the Google manoeuvre store , and it also comes adulterate with Blackberry ’s own special security measure software , which most people will have dead no use for .
No matter how you slice it , Blackberry is dire for a winnings . The fellowship still makes about 40 percent of its revenue from its flailing French telephone division , according toBloomberg . We ’ll see . Maybe the DTEK50 will be a strike . Probably not , though .
