Kyle Wilhoit , a research worker with security companyTrend Micro , explain the contingent of the whole affair at Black Hat on Wednesday . consort to Wilhoit , the whole thing was extremely and obviously calculated . He put it this means to theMIT Technology Review :
You would think that Comment Crew would n’t come after a local water authority . I in reality watched the attacker interface with the auto . It was 100 percent decipherable they knew what they were doing .

This is n’t an isolate case either . Wilhoit also shared info about 12 other steerer that attracted some 74 deliberate blast from APT1 and other groups , 10 of which were able to completely control of the fake piddle plant . If the targets had been veridical and not decoys , the assaulter would have had no problem doing pretty much anything they wanted with the substructure they managed to snag .
This was all go on long before the US and Chinadecided to sit down and spill the beans about matters , but it ’s easy to envisage how this revelation could make thing a bit more awkward and complicated . Hopefully decoys are the only thing that have gotten taken over . [ MIT Technology Review ]
