Graphic designerJaz Parkinson‘s Colour Signaturesis an interesting way of visualizing books . She pulls out all of the point of reference to color in a unmarried novel or play , tallies them up , and graphs the color system for each Koran .
Parkinson explains the on-going series onher web log :
These are my colour signature tune , an ongoing compendium which are basically graphs of all the visual capacity in the books . For instance when it might say ‘ yellow brick route , ’ ‘ yellow ’ get a tally , or when for example in The Road it says ‘ dark ash tree covered everything ’ ( not an factual quote ) , that image evoke dismal grey in a flash in the mind , so sullen grey gets a tally . They are then ordered into a spectrum and drawn up , so the result is a surprise to me until it is done . I was blow out of the water at The Road as well ! A flock of the colour is fire , and when they finally find some intellectual nourishment the Word of God describes ‘ juicy glistening peaches , ’ which is so visual after varlet and Page of grey .
So far , she ’s done these books as well as Alice in Wonderland , Of Mice and Men , and Romeo and Juliet . She ’s design on make prints from this series , and she ’s also willing to take requests .
