Prog rock and science fabrication have always gone hand in paw , but Coheed and Cambria has taken it further , create elaborate story with each album . And now vocalist / guitarist Claudio Sanchez has teamed up with Peter David to indite a novel .
Sanchez ( an avowed fan of Ray Bradbury ) differentiate MTV that the novel , Year of the Black Rainbow , should be accessible even if you have n’t mind to all the band ’s euphony :
Basically it ’s the origination tale of the characters Coheed and Cambria . That ’s the conception behind this platter . It ’s 352 pages . When we made our third record there was a literal counterpart of a graphical novel and when we worked on the follow - up I did n’t have meter to do that vis-a-vis again . But this meter there was room to really explore that avenue again . This tale ends our on-going narrative .
