When HBO decide to make a TV series of George R.R. Martin ’s A Song of Ice and Fire book , creator D.B. Weiss and David Benioff sit down down with Martin and he told them how the story ends , in broad strokes . But now that the show is catching up to Martin ’s books , he ’s told them in much greater detail , character by character .
In the new Game of Thrones feature in Vanity Fair , Martin squeal that the show is catching up to his committal to writing velocity , something he had sworn would n’t happen . Says Martin , “ They are . Yes . It ’s alarming . ” ( Already , our dialog box of experts has speculatedthat time of year five , publicize next year , could end with event from The Winds of Winter , the Christian Bible Martin has n’t land up yet . monition : link contains spoiler . )

But now that the peril of the show catching up to Martin ’s books seems more extreme , the producer have gotten Martin to disgorge way more detail about how he intend to terminate the story for every single major character . From the Vanity Fair article :
Not to concern though , in the event that they do pick up up , the show ’s Divine are prepared . Benioff reveals , “ Lastyear we went out to Santa Fe for a week to sit down down with him [ Martin]and just babble through where matter are move , because we do n’t sleep with ifwe are become to catch up and where exactly that would be . If you knowthe ending , then you could lie the groundwork for it . And so we want toknow how everything ends . We want to be able to set things up . So wejust sat down with him and literally run through every character . ”
But this does n’t entail that Martin is giving up quite yet , and is hopeful that he will be the first one to tell his story . “ Ican give them the blanket strokes of what I mean to write , but thedetails are n’t there yet . I ’m hopeful that I can not let them catch upwith me . ”
And once again , the show ’s creator assert they desire the show to end in seven or eight years . Said Weiss , “ It does n’t just keep on going because it can . I think the desire tomilk more out of it is what would finally wipe out it , if we gave in tothat . ” Whichseems like a smart move . [ Winter is Coming ]
