There ’s going to be a raw zombie comical book getting a idiot box show before long , and it has nothing to do with The Walking Dead . Oh , and did we mention there will be vampire , too ?
Empire of the Dead , written by Romero himself , is set eld after a zombie spirit pestis has waste New York City , with lamia swarm in to gain control of what ’s leave of the human universe . Romero will bear on over from the comedian and pen the adaption with Peter Grunwald , and both will also produce the series for Demarest .
With The Walking Dead ( and soon Fear the Walking Dead ) currently overlook the idiot box zombie space , it ’ll be interesting to see if a Romero - back take on the shambling undead hordes can take off . Will vampires be enough for the great unwashed to see a difference ? Let ’s hope so . I ca n’t attest to having read Empire , but vampire and zombies sounds like it could be a lot of fun .
