Google ’s homepage is basically an opened sight that Google has been allow for over a decade . It makes sense that Google would put all that blank place to expend sooner or later . Even though it now offers a million different services , hunting is still by far Google ’s most popular place . It need to leverage that popularity to gather information about you and to do that , it really really needs you to expend Google+ .

Placing the birthday reminder on the search page serves the dual role of promoting Google+ and give you one less intellect to visit Facebook .
