A man has died after getting trapped in a cement mixer truck in New York City.
The accident took place at a work site on Monday, according to officials.Google Maps

“A person somehow got entangled in the machine and died,” the FDNY told the outlet.
PEOPLE has reached out to the company and FDNY for further comment.
NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) officials told the outlet that “the site was not a construction site and no construction operations were active at the time of the accident.”
A preliminary investigation determined the fatal accident happened as Lumbreras was “cleaning a concrete truck,” DOB officials informedNorwood news.

A spokesperson for the New York Police Department also confirmed to the outlet that Lumbreras was “prepping the cement truck” when he was killed. The spokesperson declined to confirm whether or not anyone was with him at the time.
Norwood Newsalso reported that the case has now been “referred the case to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for follow-up.”
Lumbreras' son, Frank, described the situation as a “freak accident,” telling theNY Daily Newsthat his “father was the hardest-working person in the Bronx.”
He added, “[Francisco] was the heart of everything in our family. We don’t know what to do now.”
