The new couples ofMarried at First Sightare quickly learning that marriage isn’t always easy.
“I think being in love is awesome,” says Haley, 28, of her new husband Jacob, 38.
“We’re a match made in heaven,” Vincent, 27, adds of her wife Briana, 28.
But things begin to take a turn after four of the couples are seen exchanging “I love you’s” — except for Ryan, 29, and his wife Clara, 27.
“I don’t want to set myself up for heartbreak for the man who has never dropped the L-word,” Clara says through tears about her project manager husband.
The drama continues to heat up as several of the couples — including Chris, 27, and Paige, 25, as well as Erik, 34, and Virginia, 26 — struggle with feelings of jealousy.
“A guy and a girl can never be friends, ever,” Erik tells Virginia.
“The jealousy thing is not okay with me,” Virginia later says in a confessional.
Jacob and Haley are also seen grappling with similar issues as Jacob confronts his wife about the possibility of seeing another person.
“You are acting like you’ve been seeing somebody else or something,” he says.
As the couples begin to learn more about one another, conflict seems to arise between all five pairings.
“You need to step up, you’ve got to f—ing man up,” Erik tells Chris, while Clara adds that Chris has “an attitude problem.”
The clip also teases a fight between Chris and several of the male contestants.
“I’m really numb right now, I don’t know where to go from here,” Paige says after seeing her husband’s behavior.
Before all five couples sit down in front of experts Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin Robertson and Dr. Viviana Coles to decide if they want to stay married or get divorced, many of the spouses begin to break down.
“I’m sorry I f—ing have anxiety and I feel like I’m drowning right now and I feel like I just want to get the f— out of here,” Virginia says to husband Erik.
“My vows are definitely being tested right now,” Paige adds.
