The Queen of Hip Hop Soul, 48, is appearing on Monday’s episode ofThe View, and doesn’t hold back when weighing in on the hot topic controversy that erupted after this month’s Grammy Awards — when fans critical ofCardi B‘s best rap album win began trying to ignite a withNicki Minaj.

In Blige’s view, that needs to stop.

“I think it’s negative because we’ve suffered enough amongst a male-dominated society and a male-dominated business. We suffer enough amongst each other,” the 48-year-old says. “When you see us trying to do something, at least try to bring us together. At least try to lift us up together.”

“I think that it’s best that we continue to lift each other up,” she adds. “There’s enough everything for everyone. Why can’t Cardi win the Grammy? There’s enough for everyone. Why can’t she have her moment?”
