It is probably   not easy being a sea lion . One daytime , you ’re swimming around hunt some tasty anchovies and abruptly , BAM ! You ’re a few m out of the pee in the mouth of a hunchback whale , not knowing what ’s about to hap . This odd case was caught on camera by wildlife lensman and biologist Chase Dekker just outside Monterey Bay in California .

tell the tale onInstagram , he said he   was watching humpback whale lunge feeding – where they swim with their mouth open to catch   Pisces –   when a ocean Leo the Lion ended up being in the wrong place at the improper time . Despite the sealskin appearing shocked , he   tell both animals seemed   fine .

Dekker wrote onInstagram : " At some point the sea lion run and the whale seemed okay too as it continued to give , but it must have been a unusual experience for both political party ! That sea lion had the true " Jonah Experience ! "

However , the sea lion was never   move to end up like either the Biblical Jonah or Pinocchio in the belly of the hulk . Although the sass of a humpback whale has a mass of 19,000 cubic decimetre ( 5,000 gallon ) , its throat is not much large than a Citrus paradisi , according toNOAA’sHawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary .

Sea lions and humpback whales normally have a much more calm   interaction . The main marauder of sea Lion is orcas , a species with   extremely successful hunt skill that   have been seenthrowing preyout of the water with enough strength that their internal organs come out out . This mean ocean king of beasts   have to be faster than orcas to not end up with such a   fate .

On good day , seal   may   have some guardian backer : humpback heavyweight . Publishedobservationssuggest   kyphosis whales may   pick a fight with orcas in an apparent attempt to   disrupt their hunting natural process . And they properly go   at it , slapping them with their flippers and chasing them out . In many cases , it seems ,   ocean Panthera leo prefer   the company of hunchback whales , just perhaps not too closemouthed during feeding times .
