Likemany celebrities, actressRebel Wilsonspent the final days of 2018 in Aspen, Colorado — though her getaway to the winter destination involved a unique trip down the slopes.
During a visit toTheEllen DeGeneresShowon Tuesday,theIsn’t It Romanticstarrevealed that she had to be “medically rescued” from the top of the mountain when she realized that she “forgot” how to ski.
“I skied for about 100 feet, Ellen,” Wilson, 38, said, explaining that she was working with a female ski instructor at the time. “She was like, ‘Okay, you just have to ski down now.’ And I was like, ‘Aww, I don’t know…’ ”
Wilson had made it to the top of the mountain on a chairlift and thought that would be a proper escape. “They said, ‘Okay, now you have to go down the hill.’ And I said, ‘Can I just get the chairlift back? ‘Cause that’s like a ride. That seems pretty fun,’ ” Wilson joked.
Eventually, ski patrol was called to tow Wilson down the hill in a yellow sled — even though, as DeGeneres pointed out, “there was nothing wrong.”
“Not technically … it was more just a vibe that I didn’t want to ski down the massive hill,” Wilson recalled.
Traveling down the hill on her back wasn’t necessarily easier for Wilson. “This lovely gentleman Scott came and rescued me in a sled but he said in order to get enough speed to get to the bottom, we have to go off the side of a cliff. So that ended up being more scary than actually skiing,” she admitted.
“I was freaking out,” she added. “I lost my poles, I lost my s— going down on this little sled.”
“Normally I don’t go out to clubs,” teased Wilson. “I know I look like a partier, but it’s more bubble baths to for me.”
That outing to Aspen’s Caribou Club wasn’t without its fair share of drama, though. It all started at the door when security told them they had to check their coats and Carey allegedly refused. “Mariah’s like, ‘No, my coat is part of the outfit. No,’ ” Wilson told DeGeneres. “And it’s freezing cold outside the club so we really wanted to get in!”
All worked out in the end. “At the end of the day, she did what is best for the group and we got in,” Wilson said. “She’s a team player. But she’s such an awesome lady. And then inside the club they started playing her songs ’cause she’s in there. We were like, ‘Yeah!’ dancing. So it turned out alright.”

Wilson was onEllento promote her new movie,Isn’t It Romantic.
The film sees Wilson as a cynical New Yorker who hits her head and wakes up stuck in a world full of romantic comedy tropes. “It works if you love rom-coms or you hate them,” Wilson told DeGeneres. “It makes fun of all the classic clichés that you know and love rom-com films.”
In addition to starring in it, Wilson also produced the film and helped cast costar Liam Hemsworth. “Normally people who are so hot like that aren’t funny. Turns out he’s such a legend and the funniest guy,” Wilson said. “So good move for me casting him.”
