Wayne Brady’s family won’t be remixing their way back onscreen any time soon.TheLet’s Make a Dealhost, 52, revealed in an interview with PEOPLE for his newSuper Bowl collaboration with Perdue Chickenthat his Freeform reality show,Wayne Brady: The Family Remix,won’t be returning for a second season at the network.“There is no season 2 from Hulu,” Brady said of Hulu, who originally ordered the series before it moved to Freeform, a fellow subsidiary of the Disney Entertainment division of the Walt Disney Company. “But we loved doing season 1, and who knows? Things may change and we may pop up somewhere doing something, but the bottom line is we’re always a family.”He added that the “core four” — his nickname for hisblended familywhich includes his 22-year-oldMaile Masako, her mother,Mandie Taketa, and Taketa’s boyfriend Jason Fordham — still “have new things coming out” in the future despite no longer having the show.“I’m developing a sitcom,” he revealed. “[Mandie and I], we have a production company. We have a couple shows that are being developed right now.”“And I’ll probably be going back to Broadway this summer. Showing a half-truth doesn’t work. We had to go there.”“I had this voice play in the back of my mind: ‘What are the people that watch going to think? Is this going to affect my livelihood? Is it going to affect the family?’” he continued. “But once all those voices were quieted, we said, ‘Let’s do it.’”TheWhose Line Is It Anyway?alum married Taketa in 1999 and although the pair split five years later, they became best friends and even business partners in a production company. The pair have continued to work together even as they have moved on to other relationships, with Brady even welcoming a son,Val Henry, in 2022 with his ex-girlfriend Tina.Brady told PEOPLE ahead of the 2025Super Bowlthat his family will continue to move forward in their various pursuits, including his daughter, who is putting out a record in the new year.“We are very, very blessed and we always stay busy,” he said, jokingly adding that they were always ready for the next thing. “If you stay ready, then you ain’t got to get ready.”
